Who am I ? Kerrie Anne Christian (nee Adams), a great great granddaughter of Alfred George Joy & wife Jeanett Newlands - via their son John Charles Joy who married Edith Florence Hicks in 1901.
The Joys have been associated with the Illawarra since 1901, although on their Hicks side they date back to 1826 in the Illawarra, and linked to the Northern Illawarra from 1830.
I live in Thirroul overlooking Sandon Point and from childhood Mum would take us to the Joy-Hicks Family Graves at St Augustine's Bulli. The names intrigued me - what were their stories? Uncovering them was harder in the past. Finally with Trove & the Web it's possible to discover & share so many more of these stories across our Joy Family.
